7:00am Tour : MILFORD SOUND (COACH/NATURE CRUISE/FLY)

On boarding the 'Real Journeys' luxury glass roofed coach in Queenstown (hotel pick up provided), you are treated to a relaxing trip along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Te Anau. After a morning tea break in Te Anau, where you have the option to purchase refreshments, the coach continues along the spectacular Milford Road. There is time for photo stops and short walks along the way, and the coach driver presents an informative commentary.

On reaching Milford Sound, board the vessel to cruise the full length of Milford Sound to the Tasman Sea with a nature guide. The vessel provides excellent viewing opportunities and plenty of time is available to enjoy waterfalls, rainforest, mountains and wildlife. Complimentary tea and coffee are available during the cruise and the Picnic Lunch has been included for you.

Return transport to Queenstown is by plane (weather permitting). During the sight-seeing flight from Milford Sound visitors are provided with a panoramic view of the spectacular alpine scenery and rainforest. The fleet of aircraft is operated by Milford Sound Flight seeing.

DRIVE QUEENSTOWN TO FRANZ JOSEF

At your leisure (5-6 hrs drive), but allow most of the day to take in the spectacular sights along the way. Depart Queenstown and head toward Wanaka either via the main road or over the Crown Range (dirt road) which offers wonderful views of the Queenstown valley. Continue on via Lakes Hawea and Wanaka and into the Southern Alps. Here you will have a dramatic change of farmlands to amazing mountain and valleys with lots of excellent stops available for short walks before reaching Haast Pass where you will want to stop and take in the awesome mountains and river. After Haast Pass you begin the downward run to Haast and along the coastal road to Fox Glacier and Franz Josef Glacier.

As you board the Trans Alpine train at Greymouth you say farewell to the glacier country and travel through the rugged mountains of the Southern Alps to the Canterbury Plains and on into Christchurch.

This train is one the most beautiful journey's in New Zealand and one which you will need plenty of film!

As you exit customs, turn right and head to the meeting point. Please look for your driver in this meeting area, he will be holding a sign with your name on it.

The capital of Victoria and Australia's second-largest metropolis is known around the world for the Melbourne Cup horserace - but it offers much more - a city of style, of Victorian architecture, of trams, of fashion, food, theatres, art galleries, and leafy gardens.

Known as the Arts and Culture capital of Australia and also for it's restaurants, great dining-out spots include St Kilda, South Yarra, and Lygon Street in Carlton for the best Italian cuisine; Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, for its offbeat cafe culture; and Southgate where you can dine overlooking the Yarra River.

2:00pm Tour : DELUXE FAIRY PENGUINS

Departing your hotel, travel along picturesque St. Kilda Road to Melbourne's closest beach. Following the Beach Road with it's varied architectural styles around Port Philip Bay until we turn off and head to Western Port Bay. Travel through leafy suburbs to the city of Dandenong, continuing toward Phillip Island, where we head over the cause way on to Phillip Island Wildlife Park. See Koalas and Kangaroos, before a three course dinner at Taylor's restaurant in Cowes (note - all beverages are at your own expense).

The penguins come ashore at sunset and we are there to witness them make their way among the sand dunes to their burrows (numbers vary throughout the year). The visitors centre has a number of displays where you can learn more of the penguins life. We then head back to the city via the South Gippsland Highway and South Eastern Freeway, returning between 11pm in winter to midnight in summer.

Photography of any kind (including video) is not allowed at the penguin parade. Dress warm - especially during winter (April-August), but even in summer the night may be cold and a sweater or jacket is recommended. Small group tour with a maximum of 8 people on board our vehicle - though note that the penguin parade is a popular attraction and many other tourists visit this site each evening.

You arrive at Aquarium Pontoon (Darling Harbour) around 10am after hotel pick- ups. Depart for your cruise on Sydney's famous Harbour, under the Sydney Harbour Bridge, view the Opera House & Circular Quay and continue past Mrs. Macquaries Chair. At this point we hoist the sails and turn off the engines (weather permitting) to sail past the wealthy suburbs of Sydney and to look out at the Pacific Ocean.

We drop anchor in a peaceful bay to prepare and enjoy a delicious lunch, before heading back towards Darling Harbour, to arrive at around 3pm. Hotel drop-off transfer may be arranged for an additional cost.
